The Europäische Gesellschaft für Lackiertechnik e.V.
(EGL) is the professional association for specialists from the
coating sector. The EGL admits individuals as members
and cooperates closely with the Deutschen
Forschungsgesellschaft für Oberflächenbehandlung e.V.
(DFO), that exclusively admits companies as members.
The organization
functions as an interface between practice, research, and science
in coating technology. It addresses employees from:
- paint users
- paint suppliers
- raw material
suppliers for the paint industry
- pretreatment
suppliers
- plant and
equipment suppliers
and also
- students
and
- trainees
in the field of paints / coating technology.
The EGL promotes
regional and supra-regional know-how exchange among specialists,
e.g. by participating in the EGL Coating Technology
Meetings.
At present
these meetings are only being held in Germany. After an initial
set-up phase, meetings will also take place in other parts of
Europe.
For these
meetings the EGL will rely on the support of its "European"
members.
Close relations and/or agreements on special
conditions for purchase are currently in effect with the magazines
European Coatings
Journal, JOT,
and Metalloberfläche.
